Vital Signs": the Stack Paradox
a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.
The take away....Middle America's reaction to being stripped of everything they once possessed is " what the hell do you expect."
When you take our homes, our retirement, our future, our childrens' future, and on and on and on; whatta you expect?
It's Not just a little bit of everything...everything.
The Stack act of desperation cannot be condoned...but in all honesty, what took so long for someone to snap?
You didn't see this coming? Oh and by the way; pilots can still fly into buildings. And that my fellow countrymen is really quite bothersome.
The dilemma: How do I put this? The irrationality of ones' actions do not necessarily invalidated their points of reason.
A Martyr is willing to die for what he believes...die for his cause.
A Patriot prefers to live while working toward accomplishing his cause.
Where does the degree of passion or the moral/ethical components of the specific cause figure in to the equation?
And what of the veracity of the cause?
Are we really at the point of last resort to be heard...listened to...appeased?
Do we need more fatalities to get a light at this intersection?
Surely they are vital elements effecting the eventual outcome.
At this point, relief does not exist, nor is it in sight, for millions of Americans. That strikes a nerve...Being Void of Voice is how we the people founded our nation...right?

Samantha Bell told ABC, that Stack was a “loving, devoted” man, who gave “zero signs” of such violent rage. “This man who did this was not my father..."if nobody comes out and speaks up on behalf of injustice, then nothing will ever be accomplished. Homeland chief: Domestic extremism is top concern
WASHINGTON --2/21/2kx
Americans who turn to terrorism and plot against the U.S. are now as big a concern as international terrorists, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday.

The interesting point about the comments is that they are thoughtful, long, and substantive... Why I’m so impressed is because people took so much time to think and write in their comments... Clearly, I hit a nerve...people are willing to devote time and energy to expressing the opinions and frustrations...seem more accurate to me than typical political pollsters in gauging the state of public opinion and the relative importance of one issue over another.

Human Events editor Jed Babbin joked about the recent airplane attack on an IRS building in Texas, "And let me just say, I'm really happy to see Grover today," said Babbin. "He was getting a little testy in the past couple of weeks. And I was just really, really glad that it was not him identified as flying that airplane into the IRS building."

It begins under the premise of Truth...Simple truth...an appeal, if you will.
Writing didn't provide the outlet for the amount of frustration over the events that led him to "Desperate times call for desperate measures".

He continues saying he was disallusioned to believe in truth, justice and the American League.
With respect to politicians being corrupt, they're on their way out. Change is excrutriatingly slow...agreed indeed.
Regarding backroom deals with Big Business..You know what Joe, that's where the money is...Welcome to America...
And no, I do not agree with "the system" but then again I don't have a pilots licence nor a plane for that matter..
Drastic measures to justify your cause does not qualify for martyrdom Joe.
We The People are the fabric of society and like it or not we hold ourselves to higher standards then those "above the law" ; Sir.
Treason is a crime against the people, of which you committed willingly, knowingly and in a premeditated manner, which frankly, is a despicable attempt to justify your actions via circumstance.
Speculative Summary of events
Pilot, Joseph A. Stack is on his way to the airport. He's to fly his private plane into the IRS office located at the Echelon Bldg. Austin Tx. Before he does he lights his house on fire, with his wife and child inside. Turns out their 'fine'. Before that; he posts this Manifesto addressed to Big Brother...

A house fire in North Austin was started by the pilot of the plane that crashed into a nearby building 30 minutes later, according to federal officials.

In the interest of brevity, heres Mr. Stack's reasoning behind his frustrations which led him to fly his private plane into a commercial bldg. which housed the offices of the IRS.

Sand-Time

a Touch of simple truth
from whence, thy sacred tried
evolved towards, scared tired
when the solace trembles
the words un-spoken true
I wince with scars triumphant
& pray you've seen it through
A Closing Word
Joe,
Ayite, I'm gonna have to stop it right there. Brevity succumbed to a rant into a tirade but at diatribe...here's the thing.
Childhood was an illusion, Yeah, I get that.. I want my Jet-pac Joe
but imagine the chaos if all had a Jet-Pac & The Catholic Church,
oye vey do I get that, the stories I Can't tell you; But in the end...( rim shot )
it's what one takes away from life's experiences. The one thing I took from catholicism is
good deeds = 'walkin' the walk'..Even if I'm all in; the point you start blowing things up, I'm out.
You can't go around blowing things up because, the simple truth is, anarchy is not good.
"The right to swing my fist ends where the other man's nose begins."
O.W.Holmes
The guy who said that is dead; As are you Joe...You can't go around blowing things up, that includes you
Yet still, I must acquiesce I'm compelled with the power of passion & persuasion in your argument.Simple truth is the moral high ground isn't very appealing from my point of view. Fore that was a true act of desperation on your behalf.
...but, yet, so was the Civil War, & yes Lincoln, & what I took away from that diaster was lets do this without Gettysburg & Antietam. No Booth, no Mudd, no Mary Surratt. All scars on "We the People"
Politicians are a reflection of the Democratic way of life....those we choose to represent us...shame on us ? I don't think so. We choose to raise families, lower standards are neither possible nor advisable. Try raising kids
Weighing in
Granted it's way too early ...but
the question throughout history remains,
Which spark will ignite the inferno?
Two substantially relevant unknowns...the backstory & the fallout
The particulars of this tragedy are exactly the type of event Middle America, the forgotten working class, responds to. The masses can relate to Joe's dilemma, which lends capacity & potential for the rallying cry toward actual change. .gjf
an·ti·es·tab·lish·men·tar·i·an·ism: a policy or attitude that views a nation's power structure as corrupt, repressive, exploitive.
Constitutional attorney and author John W. Whitehead
is founder and president of The Rutherford Institute..."pundits on the right and left had already dismissed Stack as a fringe lunatic, and anyone who agreed with Stack’s diatribe against an unjust government was labeled a crackpot.
However, while you can – and should – disagree with the method of Stack’s madness, Americans shouldn’t be too quick to discount the source of his frustrations.
Clearly, Stack is neither a hero nor a martyr. Nor is he technically a terrorist. Rather, he is the end product of a system that pays little heed to the disaffected, discontent and voiceless.
Stack is representative of a burgeoning class of disaffected Americans who are waking up to the reality that the American governmental system no longer works as it was intended...
a government of elites comprised of politicians and unelected bureaucrats has emerged that views the average American as little more than a source of tax funds and labor to keep the massive machinery of government operating.
Thus, it’s each and every one of us – young and old, single and married, white collar and blue collar, liberal and conservative, religious believer and atheist alike – reaching out and chipping in and working in our communities to fix these problems from the ground up....
That’s the wake-up call, America. Is anyone listening?"
